Step 1: Choose a Template

Open the Cartono Maps design studio and pick the template that fits your purpose:

Each template has its own layout, text fields, and map shape.

Step 2: Search for Your City

Type the name of any city, town, or address into the location search. The map will center on that location. You can also:

Pan the map by clicking and dragging

Zoom in or out to find the perfect level of detail

Place a marker (heart, pin, star, etc.) on a specific spot

For multi-location templates, you'll search for each city separately.

Step 3: Customize the Text

Every template has editable text fields. Common fields include:

Title — Your headline (names, city name, or custom text)

Subtitle — A secondary line ("Where We Met," "Est. 2020," etc.)

Date — The date that matters

Coordinates — GPS coordinates of the location (auto-generated)

Type directly into the fields and see the changes in real-time on the poster preview.

Step 4: Pick a Color Theme

Choose from 28 handcrafted color themes that control the map colors, background, and overall mood:

Pro Tips for Great Results

Zoom level matters more than you think. Zoom 12-13 shows the city structure clearly. Zoom 15+ shows individual streets — great for highlighting a specific block.

Hide map labels for a cleaner look. The text on the map (street names, place names) can be toggled off for a more artistic result.

Try the same city in different themes. Paris in Noir looks completely different from Paris in Dusty Rose.
